SLPs, OTs, PTs alike, will join together as we hear from Julie Barry, MA, CCC-SLP as she presents "The MVP Playbook: A Pediatric Therapist's Guide to Flexible & Effective Sessions" in a .6 CEU event! Julie is known for her ability to incorporate movement into her sessions to keep children fully engaged while ensuring therapy remains effective.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. A boxed lunch from Chicken Salad Chick will be provided. There will also be some prepackaged snacks and bottled water to snack on during Breaks. Once you have registered for this course, you will be sent a link to choose your lunch option. An hour break will be provided for lunch. Please feel free to eat where you feel most comfortable.

    Course Description

    This is an interdisciplinary event inviting all Physical therapy, Occupational therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Early Intervention, and School Psychology professionals. The workshop will be equal to 6 professional development hours.

    Learning Objectives

    By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
    1. Summarize the role of motivation and movement in play-based speech therapy and their impact on learning outcomes.
    2. Explain the components of the MVP framework (Motivator, Vessel, Placement) and how they apply to therapy sessions for children of various ages, diagnoses, and goals.
    3. Create a repertoire of engaging therapy activities that reduce planning time while maintaining flexibility in session delivery.
    4. List key considerations when selecting and utilizing therapy materials to maximize efficiency across different settings, including collaboration with OT and PT.

    Julie Barry is a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with over 13 years experience. She currently practices in New Jersey with special interests in early intervention, motor speech disorders and preschool speech-language disorders. Julie is known for her ability to incorporate movement into her sessions to keep children fully engaged while ensuring therapy remains effective.
